Sovereign Capital, Critical Minerals & Industrial Policy

Archive current through 4 August 2026

Capital is rarely neutral once the state names a strategic constraint.

This hub currently gathers Long Arc News analysis of sovereign funds, central banks, public credit, monetary systems, tokenised ownership and industrial policy. Critical-mineral and export-control work will enter only when a canonical Long Arc essay exists. It follows the instrument before the slogan: a bond purchase, a tariff, a guarantee, a reserve decision or a line of code. The first question is who directs the flow. The second is what becomes scarce, financeable or permissible after the direction changes.

On 30 July 2026, Four Yen Before Lunch began with a four-yen move and followed the carry trade into US equity breadth. Other work traces long-duration government debt, programmable ownership and the public institutions financing strategic capacity. These are different markets. Read at the right altitude, they are decisions about who bears duration, who controls settlement and which capacity receives capital first.

The entries below are selected from the canonical essay inventory and ordered for reading, not trading. Where does policy end, and where does the balance sheet begin?
